MAN UTD PLAY FULHAM IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE ON SUNDAY EVENING AND RUBEN AMORIM EXPLAINED HIS TEAM SELECTION BEFORE KICK-OFF. 18:40, 26 Jan 2025Updated 19:04, 26 Jan 2025 Ruben Amorim has

confirmed Bruno Fernandes will operate in a deeper midfield role for Manchester United in their Premier League clash with Fulham, as he did against Rangers in midweek. United recorded a

much-needed victory against Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday night thanks to Fernandes, who scored in injury time to seal a dramatic 2-1 win. Amorim will be hopeful his side can

record another victory against Fulham at Craven Cottage, but the home side have won 14 points in their last nine league games which is double United's tally in the same period. Amorim

has recalled Harry Maguire to the starting team to face Fulham, which has seen Leny Yoro drop to the bench, and Rasmus Hojlund has been selected to lead the attack. Joshua Zirkzee has lost

his starting role to Hojlund and the 21-year-old could desperately do with a goal. His last goal came against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on December 12. Article continues below

Altay Bayindir and Toby Collyer have also been benched for Andre Onana and Manuel Ugarte respectively, and Amorim discussed his team selection ahead of kick-off. "We can expect a team

that is going to give everything during the game," Amorim told MUTV. "We want to improve with the ball and the way we play, we can do so much better. "So that is our focus, to

win the game and perform well. It's the players who are in a good moment. Rasmus [Hojlund] is also fresh and he can give us the pace, like you said. Article continues below

"[Alejandro] Garnacho and Amad, they did really well. Amad is doing a great job and Garna is increasing his level. They are young kids and can recover quite well, so I expect the

best." Amorim was asked about Fernandes and said: "We need to have more of the ball and in this moment, I think he's the player who can give us more quality in the first

moment when we're building up. Sometimes we need him in front, but today I think he will be important a little bit deeper to start the play." United head into the game against

Fulham sitting 14th in the Premier League table.
