Tottenham Hotspur will be out to ruin Ruben Amorim's hopes of winning a trophy in his first season at Manchester United when they meet in Wednesday night's Europa League final.
Both United and Spurs have endured forgettable Premier League campaigns, sitting 16th and 17th in the table respectively, meaning the clash at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao represents an
opportunity for both of them to restore some pride. As well as silverware being up for grabs, a place in next season's Champions League is also on offer, and that could be game-changing
for both clubs ahead of this summer's transfer window. Spurs, just like United, head into the game on the back of successive league defeats without scoring, meaning they will be
determined to revert to the form that has secured them a place in a European final. Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has played every minute of Spurs' Europa League knockout campaign,
meaning he is a shoo-in to start in goal. The Italian has kept three clean sheets in the competition this season and will be determined to add a fourth to his collection. Unlike Amorim,
Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou rested several key players against Aston Villa on Friday evening, meaning he is expected to recall a crop of regular starters to his starting line-up,
including defenders Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Destiny Udogie. None of them featured against Villa, with only Porro making the bench. It means the aforementioned
quartet are likely to make up the back-four and be fresh after being rested for the trip to the Midlands. They last started as a quartet in defence when Spurs sealed their place in the final
with a 2-0 win over Bodo/Glimt in the second leg of their semi-final triumph almost a fortnight ago. Despite being forced off in the second half of the defeat at Villa with a back problem,
midfielder Pape Sarr is available for selection, meaning he is likely to start in midfield. Postecoglou hosted his pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon and said the 22-year-old is
"fine". With that in mind, he is likely to be joined in the engine room by Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma. They both started the defeat at Villa on the bench before being
introduced in the second half. Bentancur and Bissouma started alongside each other in midfield for both legs of Spurs' semi-final triumph over Bodo/Glimt. In attack, Brennan Johnson and
Son Heung-min are expected to operate from out wide and support Dominic Solanke through the middle. The latter, who has scored in all of his last three Europa League appearances, is
competing with Richarlison to lead Spurs' attack. TOTTENHAM PREDICTED XI VS UNITED: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Sarr, Bissouma; Johnson, Solanke, Son.
