IT BEAT BRIGHTON, NEWQUAY AND LLANDUDNO TO BAG THE NUMBER ONE SPOT 06:02, 30 May 2025 Blackpool has been named the UK’s number one seaside staycation destination, according to a new study.


The famous coastal town known for its tower, ballroom and rollercoaters beat the likes of Brighton, Newquay and Llandudno to bag the number one spot. Research from SuomiCasino analysed 26 UK


seaside towns and ranked them on key entertainment factors including the number of amusement parks, live music venues, bars and restaurants, casinos, landmarks, beaches, and escape rooms.


The North West seaside spot came out on top thanks to all the entertainment it has to offer. Perfect for thrill-seekers, the town boasts an impressive 12 water and amusement parks, including


the iconic Blackpool Pleasure Beach. It also has 13 casinos - the highest number among all destinations in the study. Among its 67 landmarks are the famous Blackpool tower, the ballroom,


and several piers which are packed full of seaside fun. Article continues below There’s also no shortage of places to go for a drink or bite to eat thanks to the town’s 520 bars and


restaurants. Overall, this seaside destination beloved by generations of visitors is the best place to visit for an entertaining coastal holiday. Brighton ranked second in the list, boasting


an impressive 900 bars and restaurants, and 58 live music venues. Southport, another North West town, came in third place, “offering a blend of traditional charm and coastal elegance.” Its
