The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 311 points, or 0.7%, to 41,548. The S&P 500 was falling almost 49 points, or 0.8%, to 5,793. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite was dropping nearly


213 points, or 1.1%, to around 18,713. Apple was the worst-performing stock in the Dow around midday, after President Donald Trump threatened the company with tariffs if the iPhones it


sells in the U.S. are not made in the country. Tech had the biggest drop among the S&P 500’s 11 sectors in midday trading, with Apple down almost 3%.
