Disaster? or a new opportunity to restructure our economy towards one that consumes fewer resources. We need few things: healthy food and environment; a healthy discussion of leadership and
politics; and efficient housing and transportation; innovative (rather than profit minded) science; and a joyous life of sports, recreation and arts. The question should be how can we get to
those things, rather than how do we get a roaring economy. It seems reasonable to argue that a downward spiral could lead to more tyrannical politics.
