Justin, I don’t dispute your conclusion, but it seems to me that two important assumptions are central to this whole analysis: (1) that attendees at both events were equally likely to be
using smartphone that were hosting apps that collected location tracking data, as well as (2) that both populations engaged in statistically equivalent frequency of allowing such apps to
access their location data. Would that be a fair inference to make about the study design? How would one verify these assumptions? Thanks.
