Unversed in ceremonial linguistics the exotic floated like a colored carpet over a lake of fruited oils.


I got a Kali tattoo, put a baba after my nickname, changed iconic necklaces and saw that it was good enough until the real thing comes along.


Miracles weren’t yet trending. I was switching wives, getting sober. Every book seemed big in my new hands.


Noticing my bite marks on an apple didn’t match the company logo I wondered if there was a current inventory of folks getting it more right than me.

If you stare away from the mountains it’s easier to imagine being a lake. Filling my mind with imagination seemed to explain my empty pockets. I stubbornly preferred to hurry.
