IN A POST ON HIS TRUTH SOCIAL PLATFORM TRUMP ALLEGED MEMBERS OF BIDEN’S TEAM “TOOK OVER THE AUTOPEN” - A REFERENCE TO THE DEVICE USED TO SIGN OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE PRESIDENT

10:05, 21 May 2025 Donald Trump has accused members of former President Joe Biden’s team of "treason", claiming they exposed the States to "great danger." In a post on

his Truth Social platform today, Trump alleged that members of Biden’s team “took over the autopen” - a reference to the device used to sign official documents on behalf of the president. He

implied that Biden was not mentally capable of fulfilling his duties and that those around him acted unlawfully to maintain control. “Joe Biden was not for Open Borders, he never talked

about Open Borders, where criminals of all kinds, shapes, and sizes, can flow into our Country at will. It wasn't his idea to open the Border, and almost destroy our Country, and cost

us Hundreds of Billions of Dollars to get criminals out of our Country, and go through the process we are going through now,” Trump wrote. “It was the people that knew he was cognitively

impaired, and that took over the Autopen. They stole the Presidency of the United States, and put us in Great Danger. This is TREASON at the Highest Level! They did it to destroy our

Country.” He added: “The Joe Biden that everybody knew would never allow drug dealers, gang members, and the mentally insane to come into our Country totally unchecked and unvetted. All

anyone has to do is look up his record. Something very severe should happen to these Treasonous Thugs.” Trump’s explosive accusations came just days after Biden’s office publicly disclosed

that the 82-year-old former president has been diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones. The revelation, which arrived after weeks of rumours and

speculation about his health, has prompted renewed scrutiny of what the public, and even senior officials, were told about his condition while he remained in the public eye. Despite Trump’s

attack, he had initially issued a statement Sunday expressing sympathy, writing, “Wishing Joe Biden a fast and successful recovery.” Still, the confirmation of Biden’s cancer diagnosis has

ignited questions from political opponents about how long Biden and his team knew about the illness - and why the diagnosis was not made public earlier, especially given the president’s age

and status as a former commander-in-chief. A spokesperson for Biden said that he had not undergone blood testing for prostate cancer in over a decade. “President Biden’s last known PSA was

in 2014,” the spokesman said, referring to the prostate-specific antigen blood test used to detect cancer. “Prior to Friday, President Biden had never been diagnosed with prostate cancer.”

That statement came in response to growing speculation, particularly from Trump and his allies, that the cancer’s advanced nature suggested it should have been discovered earlier than

acknowledged. The US leader said he was “surprised” that the public had not been informed of the diagnosis sooner. In recent days, right-wing media figures and commentators have openly

questioned the timeline surrounding Biden’s diagnosis. Some have alleged a deliberate cover-up by his staff, while others have suggested the possibility that the disease may have been

affecting Biden’s capacity while in office. No evidence has yet been presented to support these claims, and Biden’s team has denied any prior knowledge of the disease before its discovery

last week. Nonetheless, Trump’s aggressive tone in his Truth Social post and his use of the term “treason” - a federal crime punishable by death—mark a dramatic escalation in the

post-presidency feud between the two political rivals. Concern over Biden's health became a political flashpoint during last year's White House campaign, which later saw him drop

out of the race and be replaced by Kamala Harris. The Biden family has not responded directly to Trump’s comments but has asked for privacy in recent days as the former president begins

treatment. Medical experts have pointed out that prostate cancer, even in aggressive forms, can remain undetected for years and that PSA screenings are not always routinely performed in

older patients unless symptoms appear. Still, the lack of a test since 2014 is likely to fuel further criticism over the transparency of Biden’s medical records. As speculation continues to

swirl, political observers say Biden’s diagnosis, and the debate surrounding it, may shape not just his personal legacy but also broader public expectations around health disclosures from

elected leaders. Article continues below For now, Trump has made clear he intends to use the moment to cast doubt on the integrity of Biden’s presidency.
