TOM DALEY IS ALL SET TO APPEAR AS A GUEST JUDGE ON THE MASKED SINGER TONIGHT, BUT BEFORE THAT, LET'S TAKE A DEEP DIVE INTO HIS LIFE HAMAIZ IQBAL 13:00, 18 Jan 2025 Diving legend Tom

Daley is all set to grace our television screens once again tonight as a guest judge on The Masked Singer on ITV1. Born and raised in Plymouth, Tom became the first British diver to win five

Olympic medals, including a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Games. Following his incredible success in the pool, Daley decided to retire in 2024. Ahead of his appearance tonight, let's

take a look at his life from the horrendous bullying he faced at school to his heartbreaking loss, as well as his cosy family life with his husband and children. BULLYING FOLLOWING OLYMPICS

SUCCESS After taking part in the Beijing Olympics in 2008, Tom became an international sensation, but he soon realised that not everybody was happy with his success. As he returned to

school, bullies taunted him for not wearing much while diving and even went as far as throwing things at him and threatening him. This bullying meant he had to temporarily be pulled out of

school. Writing in his memoir Coming Up For Air, Tom explained: "My sexuality was less of a focus for the school bullies; they were more interested in pointing out how little I wore

when I was diving and how the pictures of me were always practically naked. "Diver Boy' and 'Speedo Boy' became frequent taunts in musty school corridors, and I was often

tackled to the ground or had stuff thrown over me in the classroom." READ MORE: JB Gill says he's the 'luckiest' man as he makes Strictly Come Dancing historyREAD MORE:

Traitors fans 'obsessed' with player after Claudia Winkleman's cheeky remark HEARTBREAKING L Following a five-year battle with brain cancer, Tom's dad, Robert Daley, died

back in May 2011, leaving his loved ones devastated. Robert was a constant source of support and encouragement for Tom, often being a familiar figure at the poolside and at press

conferences. He was clinging onto the hope of watching his son compete at the 2012 Olympics in London but sadly passed away before he ever had the chance. Robert passed away at the age of

40. Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs, Tom Daley shared the harrowing moments leading up to his father's passing and how he wanted to dedicate his achievements to his

family. Recounting his story to Lauren Laverne in 2018, he said: "I get home and I see my dad in a hospital bed in the living room and as the days went by his condition started to

deteriorate. "And, you know, one of the last things he said to me was: 'Do we have our tickets yet?' "I thought, 'Tickets for what?' And he said: 'Those

London 2012 tickets, because I want to be right on the front row.' "And I was like, 'Oh my goodness', because I didn't know how to say to him 'You're not

going to be around to be on the front row, Dad.' "It was the next day, when all of our family and friends were around and he had gone unconscious. We were watching his chest.

"I was holding his hand as he stopped breathing." FAMILY LIFE Tom met American film screenwriter, director and producer Dustin Lance Black at a dinner party in Los Angeles back in

March 2013 and embarked on a relationship with one another. The pair announced their engagement in 2015 before going on to tie the knot at Bovey Castle in Devon two years later. Recalling

the moment he proposed in OUT magazine, he divulged: "I had the ring box in my underwear, and when he came out of the bathroom, I just went down on my knee and proposed." Article
