ABSTRACT IN the course of an investigation on antibiotics from micro-organisms of East Pakistan soils, a _Streptomyces_ sp. producing a new antibiotic was isolated. The cultural and other
characteristics of the organism are being described elsewhere1. The organism was surface-cultured on the medium shown in Table 1; 500-ml. quantities of the medium were used in 1,000-ml.
