Microglial transcriptional changes in AD

Microglial transcriptional changes in AD

Play all audios:

Through the use of single-nucleus RNA sequencing, researchers have identified Alzheimer disease (AD)-specific transcriptional profiles in post-mortem human microglia. In addition to

confirming the presence of previously established microglial phenotypes, the study identified novel microglial clusters that expressed genes associated with the endolysosomal network. This

experimental approach could provide important insights into the role of microglial transcriptomic changes in AD and possibly aid the development of new therapeutic strategies for this

condition.
