A journalism professor at Madurai Kamaraj University in Tamil Nadu was stabbed on the campus on Tuesday. E Jenefa, the head of the journalism department suffered injuries but is recovering


in the hospital. Students caught the attacker and handed him over to the police immediately.  Jothi Murugan, who was a guest lecturer at the university had lost his post after Jenefa ended


his contract due to complaints against him. According to the police, Murugan had earlier tried to bribe Jenefa to give him back his job, but she had refused.  “She suffered cut injuries in


13 places. She is safe.  We are investigating. We have not yet spoken to her and hence we are unable to confirm anything,” a police officer was quoted by _NDTV. _
