A couple from North Carolina who are wanted on murder charges by police could be hiding out in the Smoky Mountains, investigators say. Tangela Parker, 49, fled with her husband Eric Parker
after she shot and killed a coworker in Hickory, North Carolina on January 13, police said in a statement. Authorities say the couple may be hiding out near the North Carolina-Tennessee
border in the Smoky Mountains, according to ABC Wate. The broadcaster also reported that U.S. Marshals are now offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that could lead to their
arrest. It comes after Phelifia Michele Marlow, 51, died of her injuries when she was shot at around 2:30 p.m. at TCS Designs, a furniture store located at 1851 9th Avenue in Hickory, where
she worked alongside Tangela. Police said a fight had broken out between the two women before Marlow was shot. Officers found Marlow inside the business with gunshot wounds and she was
rushed to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem with life-threatening injuries. But she died later that day. Hickory Police said they are looking for two wanted
suspects—Tangela and Eric—both residents of Alexander County. The pair were last seen leaving TCS Designs in a beige 2019 Honda CRV with the North Carolina number plate FAM5669, police said.
They warned the public that the suspects should be "considered armed and dangerous." At first, Tangela Parker was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill
inflicting serious injury while Eric Parker is wanted for accessory after the fact. However, after Marlow succumbed to her injuries, the investigation was escalated to homicide. She is now
wanted for first degree murder and her husband is wanted for accessory after the fact to first degree murder, police said in an update. Anyone with information reference the location of
Tangela Parker or Eric Parker is asked to contact Hickory Police Department at 828-328-5551. Anyone with information can submit a confidential tip to U.S. Marshals at usmarshals.gov/tips.

Department discovered the victim in the 300 block of East Delz Drive, in north Houston, at around 10 p.m. on February 10. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was later
pronounced dead, the police department said on Twitter. _Newsweek _has contacted U.S. Marshals for comment.
