The remains of the police officer who was killed during the U.S. Capitol riots last month were taken to lie in honor in the building's historic rotunda. Brian Sicknick died while on
duty on January 6 when a mob breached security and entered the Capitol, making its way to the Senate and House floors and legislators' offices. Sicknick was injured while
"physically engaging" with rioters, according to Capitol police, and died after being taken to the hospital. He was among the five people who died during the siege, which left the
country shocked and prompted the second impeachment of former President Donald Trump, who has been accused of inciting the violence. On Tuesday evening, an honor guard carried an urn with
the cremated remains of the 42-year-old and a folded flag up the steps of the U.S. Capitol. President Joe Biden travelled to the Capitol to pay tribute to Sicknick shortly after the ceremony
began. The president placed his hand on the urn, said a prayer and shook his head as he observed a memorial wreath nearby. THE CLAIM Twitter users have claimed that _Fox News_ did not cover
the Capitol ceremony for Sicknick but ran just host Laura Ingraham's show in which she railed against "China Idiots" and Dr. Anthony Fauci. Historian Kevin Kruse was among
those on Twitter saying the network was not reporting on it. In a tweet that has been shared more than 3,000 times, he said: "CNN and MSNBC are covering the tribute to a Capitol Police
officer who was murdered in the line of duty and who lies in honor at the Capitol tonight, but Fox News is busy sneering at Fauci." _CNN_ media reporter Oliver Darcy wrote in a post
retweeted over 5,000 times: "As CNN and MSNBC carry live footage from the US Capitol as the fallen officer arrives to lie in honor, Fox sticks to @seanhannity's normal show and
offers no coverage." Political action committee MediasTouch, in a tweet shared over 10,000 times, said: "Fox News is not covering the ceremony in the Capitol for Officer Sicknick,
who was killed during the January 6th attack. Disgraceful". THE FACTS _Fox News_' main cable channel did not follow the whole ceremony at the Capitol, which started at 9.30 p.m. ET
when Sicknick's remains first arrived in a hearse at the East Front of the building. The viewing began at 10 p.m. and was set to last overnight. Sean Hannity, who has the 9 p.m. _Fox
News_ slot, briefly covered the ceremony toward the end of his show as he handed over to Ingraham. Alongside live footage from the scene, Hanntiy said: "Slain Officer Brian Sicknick is
lying in honor in the Capitol Rotunda. Officer Sicknick lost his life last month defending the Capitol building. He is just the fifth American who wasn't a public or military figure to
receive this honor. President Biden at the Capitol now about to pay his respects. "Our thoughts, our prayers go to him, his family, his friends tonight. We need a 9/11 commission-style
report. We cannot allow this to happen in our country again. It's that simple. And how it happened, how we missed the warnings, you know, we better get to the bottom of it because the
rest of the world with many of our enemies are watching. We've got to protect our politicians and institutions." Hannity then handed over to Ingraham, who came on air and said:
"Thanks Sean and we honor the service of all those in uniform no matter where they're stationed. A sad day for his family and the country, but we move forward I hope while learning
a lot from all of this. I'm glad you talked about that at the end of your show." Ingraham, whose show starts at 10 p.m., spent the majority of time on air discussing the pandemic.
However, at one point, she cut to a live shot of the president and first lady paying their respects to Sicknick during the viewing at the Capitol. Ingraham said: "You're looking
at live pictures here of President Joe Biden paying his respects to fallen Capitol Officer Brian Sicknick, who is lying in honor in the Capitol rotunda. Remember Sicknick was fatally injured
during the January 6 Capitol riot. His remains will lie at rest in Arlington cemetery on Wednesday." _NewsNow_ from Fox also covered the entire event, while the _Fox News_'
YouTube channel also live-streamed the scenes from the Capitol rotunda. THE RULING False. Fox News did cover the ceremony and viewing of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick. Unlike other
networks, it did not follow the whole ceremony.
