The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board (ICB) has appointed Caroline Trevithick as its interim chief executive. Ms Trevithick is currently the ICB’s chief nursing

officer and deputy chief executive, and is described as having “extensive knowledge” of the region’s system. > “I am really pleased for Caroline, and I know she will bring all > her

years. In July 2021, she was awarded an honorary doctorate by Loughborough University for her leadership of the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Covid-19 vaccination programme. Ms

Trevithick will begin her new role on 23 November and will replace Andy Williams, following his decision to retire. Ms Trevithick said: “I am delighted to be taking up this role and look

forward to working with colleagues and system partners to continue to build on the great work already taking place for the benefit of the people who live and work across our diverse

communities.” Commenting on the appointment, ICB chair David Sissling: “I am delighted we have appointed Caroline into this hugely important role. “I am confident she will provide effective

executive leadership for the ICB over an extended period,2 he said. “Caroline has vast experience of the local area and of working with our partners.” He added: “She demonstrated during the

interview her dedication and passion for working with staff, patients and the public to shape great healthcare for all. “I look forward to working with Caroline to build on the great work

happening with all our partners and stakeholders to help deliver better health and care services and outcomes for local people.” Mr Williams, outgoing chief executive of the ICB, said: “I am

really pleased for Caroline, and I know she will bring all her drive and passion to this role. “I have really enjoyed working with Caroline over the last four years and I wish her every

success for the future,” he added. ICBs replaced clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in the NHS from 1 July 2022, as part of the Health and Care Act 2022. Leicester City CCG, West

Leicestershire CCG and East Leicestershire and Rutland CCG became the NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland ICB. The ICB forms part of the wider Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland

Integrated Care System, along with the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Health and Wellbeing Partnership.
