explained that he has “zero” say in how often Swift is shown on the broadcast. “I react,” Nantz said. “I don’t tell Mike Arnold [lead director for NFL games on CBS], our director, how to do

his job.” Patrick then asked “how much is too much and how much is not enough in your opinion” for the Super Bowl. “Listen, it’s about instincts,” Nantz said. “It’s gotta be a feel thing.

You know, Kelce makes a big play, [Arnold’s] gonna cut to her for a second or two. That doesn’t mean it needs commentary with that shot. It just blends in with the replay, another crowd

shot. “But I’ve never said on a call switch, ‘Give me a shot of Taylor right now!’” Nantz went on to explain that he doesn’t understand why some are so against Swift being featured on

television during Chiefs games. “There’s been this uproar about how much we’re showing her, and I don’t get it,” Nantz said. “At the AFC Championship game, Travis had a huge part in their

win, and they cut to her a number of times, but in the end, someone did this study on it. It was 44 seconds was how long she was on our three-hour, 15-minute broadcast. “So he has great

judgment, our director, and so does our producer [Jim Rickhoff.] They’ll figure it out. There’s not a single word said about, ‘We’re gonna show her here, here, and here.’ And I’ve probably,

99 percent of the time, ’cause I’ve had eight games with her present. I don’t even reference the fact, ‘Well, there’s Taylor!’” Nantz also brought up how Tony Romo, his partner in the booth,

has referred to Swift as Kelce’s wife on a a number of occasions on the broadcast. “Tony’s had a few times where he’s jokingly said, ‘Well, there’s his wife!’ I said, ‘What? Not yet! Do you

know something we don’t know?’ But it’s all part of the shtick,” Nantz said. Nantz, who’s been the lead play-by-play announcer for the NFL on CBS since 2004, will call his seventh Super

Bowl on Sunday, when the big game is played in Las Vegas for the first time. Swift is expected to attend, according to Page Six, which said she will travel from Tokyo to Las Vegas right

after her concert the night prior. Kelce cast doubt on whether Swift will make it Wednesday while talking with media at Super Bowl 2024. When asked if Swift had given him a “pep talk” before

the big game, the All-Pro tight end said, “She’s just working on entertaining them, making sure she’s ready for her performances and everything, but the Super Bowl, we’ll worry about if she

can make it.”
