Potential freedom stood just a mere second or two away for this fan.

One Yankees fan provided the Angel Stadium crowd with an exhilarating chase Wednesday night after running onto the field during the Bronx Bombers’ 1-0 win over the Angels to complete a

three-game sweep.

The fan made it from roughly center field to the right-field wall, even showing some nifty skills by splitting an officer and a security staffer, and then jumped into the stands.

However, a trailing officer or security member reached in and dragged the fan back onto the field. Handcuffs were then placed on him while two officers escorted him off the field.

The shenanigans happened in the seventh inning with the Angels at the plate when the fan, dressed in a home Aaron Judge jersey and a red hat, made his way onto the field.

He had his phone in his hand and appeared to be recording the scene.

The man eventually made his way to right field and toward Yankees slugger Cody Bellinger, who didn’t flinch as the fan split two individuals in pursuit.

The crowd cheered as the fan made his way toward the wall, and a mixture of cheers and boos — the former likely for the fan, the latter perhaps for the officers — while he was taken off the

field.

The fan missed the tense final few innings of the Yankees’ win, which included a controversial called third strike on a pitch off the plate to secure the Yankees’ fifth straight win on their

three-city road trip.
