Walnut Creek DMV Office Closing Permanently

Play all audios:

WALNUT CREEK, CA — If you have business to do at the Department of Motor Vehicles, you have until Friday to wrap it up. Otherwise, you'll have to drive out of town to a DMV office. The

Walnut Creek DMV on North Broadway will close permanently at 5 p.m.

That's right — Pleasanton will have two offices and Walnut Creek will have none.

“We have recently made many alternatives available for our customers,” DMV Director Steve Gordon said. “Most DMV transactions can now be completed without visiting a field office by using

our expanded online services, kiosks, business partners or mail.”

The DMV posts current wait times on its website. You may also schedule an appointment, which saves time.
