The 30-year-old, who joined the Cherry and Whites from Cardiff in 2024, made an immediate impact in his debut campaign, guiding George Skivington’s side to a fifth-place finish — just two

points shy of the play-offs.

Capped 65 times by Wales, Williams’ electric form has also earned him a spot in the British & Irish Lions squad for this summer’s tour of Australia.

“I didn’t know what to expect from this season,” said Williams. “I came in open-minded and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. I couldn’t have picked a better club than Gloucester — the coaches have

been class.

It was the style of play that appealed. They give us the freedom to play and express ourselves, and I think that’s benefited me and the boys.”

Northampton Saints flanker Henry Pollock has been named Breakthrough Player of the Season after a meteoric rise through the ranks.

Still just 20, Pollock forced his way into the Saints’ starting XV following limited game time last season. He has since become a key figure in a side that has booked a place in the

Champions Cup final, and he now holds the distinction of being the youngest player in the 2025 Lions squad.

“The last 12 months have accelerated at a rate I probably wouldn’t have expected,” said Pollock. “If you’d told me last year I’d be a British and Irish Lion, I’d have slapped you. It’s been

mad — now it’s all about the next job.”
