I don’t know if it ever happens to you, but every time I finish a bottle of water, I feel guilty about adding to the pile of plastic bottles polluting the world. The recent initiative by
Bisleri has served to allay my guilt, and deserves a round of applause. SO, HERE’S WHAT HAPPENED. As a part of their CSR activity, Bisleri extended their support to Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan
by encouraging school students to recycle used plastic bottles. ON OCTOBER 4TH, 2015, THEY SET OUT TO COLLECT PLASTIC BOTTLES WITH THE HELP OF 105 SCHOOLS AND OVER 2 LAKH STUDENTS. As a part
of the initiative, Bisleri also conducted workshops with students educating them about the environmental benefits of recycling plastic. STUDENTS IN LARGE NUMBERS PARTICIPATED AND COLLECTED
A TOTAL OF 1.1 MILLION BOTTLES Take a moment to say wow! THE TOTAL WEIGHT OF THESE WAS A WHOPPING 23,538.9 KGS. Go ahead and pick up an empty bottle and feel just how light one bottle is.
Multiply that by 1.1 million. BISLERI NOW HOLDS A GUINNESS WORLD RECORD, AS WELL AS A RECORD IN THE LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS FOR THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PLASTIC BOTTLES COLLECTED FOR RECYCLING.
To mark the success of the initiative, Bisleri International felicitated participating schools with certificates from Guinness World Records, Limca Book as well as gifts and certificates
from Bisleri. John Abraham, Mr. Sameer Unhale, State Mission Director of Swachh Maharashtra Mission and many others graced the event which was held on the 13th of April, 2016. Check out
