Mao Dumpling Bar is the new-generation Chinese canteen that opened its doors in the 3rd arrondissement. On the menu: super-original ravioli and tasty dishes to share with your guests.
Friends, today we're taking you to discover a NEW SUPER GOURMET ADDRESS, which has opened its doors in the 3rd arrondissement: Mao Dumpling Bar. As you'll have gathered from the
name, this new spot offers a fine selection of RAVIOLI, each more original than the last, but not only! But before revealing the menu in detail, let us explain how this place dedicated to
NEW-GENERATION CHINESE GASTRONOMY came into being. At the crossroads of the CHINESE CANTEEN AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD BAR, Mao Dumpling Bar is the brainchild ofADRIEN ZHENG, who aims to combine
GOOD FOOD and event programming in collaboration with artists, labels and partners from different horizons. The à la carte menu features specialities from ALL REGIONS OF THE MIDDLE Kingdom,
concocted by TWO CHEFS: one from northern China, who makes all the dumplings and other dough-based preparations by hand; the other from southern China, who concocts the tapas to share. The
menu features both DUMPLINGS and SMALL PLATES TO SHARE with friends. As for the dumplings, we fell for the most original: the KIMCHI RAVIOLI (11€), which are just the right amount of tingle
(come on, we'd even have liked them a little spicier!), the CHEESE RAVIOLI (11€), the restaurant's signature dish, super cheesy with cheddar and emmental cheese, and the SICHUAN
RAVIOLI (11€), which arrive in a spicy peanut-chili sauce. In short, if you're looking for a change from the traditional pork and chives or chicken and mushroom ravioli (although
they're also available à la carte!), Mao Dumpling Bar is the place to go! As for DISHES TO SHARE, we opted for the CHIVE PANCAKE (8€), served here more crispy than soft, and above all
for the super-melting EGGPLANT HONGSHAO (8€), one of our favorite Chinese dishes perfectly executed by Mao's chefs. As for DRINKS, we accompany our dishes with the TWO COCKTAILS on the
menu: the SHANGHAI MULE (12€) with Baijiu, organic ginger beer, squeezed lemon and mint; and the MAO TONIC (10€) made with gin, Indian tonic and yuzu confit. So, who's got a hankering
for ravioli this lunchtime? PLEASE NOTE THAT IT'S BEEN OVER 4 YEARS SINCE OUR LAST VISIT, SO THE PLACE AND EXPERIENCE MAY HAVE CHANGED.
