India criticized Pakistan for raising the Kashmir issue at the United Nations Humans Rights Council (UNHRC) on Monday and called Pakistan’s attempt of accusing other countries of “effecting
a state-sponsored genocide” a matter of “serious concern”, reported a news agency, Asian News International (ANI). Exercising its right to reply, Senthil Kumar, first secretary of India’s
Permanent Mission, Geneva, accused Pakistan of misusing the council for raising Kashmir issue at the 43rd session of UNHRC. “It’s a matter of serious concern that Pakistan being the only
country in South Asia of effecting a state-sponsored genocide would have the audacity to accuse others of it,” said Mr. Kumar. While speaking about the abrogation of Article 370, Mr. Kumar
said that India’s decision to revoke Jammu and Kashmir’s special status last year did not have any “external ramifications”. Adding to it, India asked Pakistan to look at its own records
before offering advice to others. “This country emerged out of religious fundamentalism and bloodshed and its history [is] rigged with assassinations, coups and puppets running,” said Mr.
Kumar. Mr. Kumar also further said that enforced disappearances, state violence and forced mass displacements, army operations, torture, detention centres, military camps were regular
features in Balochistan. Mr. Kumar accused Pakistan of petrifying its minority communities by systematic misuse of blasphemy. “The recent fate of two Hindu girls in Sindh, one Christian girl
in Lahore, one Ahmadi lady in Chaleki, two professors from Khairpur are the examples of systematic targeting of minorities through blasphemy laws,” Kumar said.
