_(This story was first published on 31 October 2015, and is being republished)_ Shekhar Kapur’s epic sci-fi film _Mr India_ (1987) is being celebrated all over again, 27 years after its
release, at the Mumbai film festival’s one day ‘Movie Mela’ celebration._ _Lead actor Anil Kapoor had been waiting eagerly for this reunion of the film’s lead cast including the main child
artists, who are all grown up now. Actor-director Satish Kaushik, Sridevi, producer Boney Kapoor, writer-poet Javed Akhtar and Anil Kapoor shared their experiences from the making of the
cult classic with fans gathered at the event. Anil Kapoor came dressed as his character Arun Verma, the guardian angel who runs an orphanage and plays the violin in the film. Sridevi remains
unforgettable as the ambitious journalist who falls in love with the invisible _Mr India_. The film’s warmth and humility touched the entire nation and especially kids growing up in the 80s
and 90s. Remember Aftab Shivdasani and choreographer Ahmed Khan as kids in the film? And of course, who can forget the jovial helper Calendar, played by Satish Kaushik. It was such a
pleasant surprise to see the little angel face Anjali from the film, all grown up now. Impressively, Anil Kapoor could fit right back into his humble costume from the film, with no trouble
at all, the charmingly simple tweed jacket and brown hat. MAMI’s own _South Park _version of Anil Kapoor from _Mr India_ is pretty epic too! Check out the unkempt stubble. Hilarious! How
about watching _Mr India_ all over again after this nostalgic reunion? Published: 31 Oct 2015, 3:09 PM IST
