Dg vanzara accuses amit shah, anandiben patel of conspiracy

Play all audios:

Retired IPS officer DG Vanzara, an accused in the alleged fake encounters of Ishrat Jahan and Sohrabuddin Sheikh in 2007, has written to additional chief secretary (home) GR Aloria demanding

promotion to 15 other accused police officers who were reinstated. This is the second time that Vanzara has written to the additional chief secretary about unfair treatment of his former

colleagues by the Gujarat government. Vanzara, who at present is out on bail and lives in Mumbai, has now claimed that those IPS officers who have been reinstated have been discriminated

against by the Gujarat state government. RAJASTHAN COMPARISON In his letter to Aloria, crediting the Vasundhara Raje government, Vanzara has cited the case of co-accused IPS officer Dinesh

MN of the Rajasthan cadre who got a double promotion after getting bail in the same case. Dinesh became Inspector General of Police (IGP), rising from the rank of Superintendent Police. >

When nobody could dare to come in the way of Vasundhara Raje > government in giving promotions to Rajasthan officers, who is coming > in the way of Anandiben Patel government in

giving similar > promotions to Gujarat officers in the same case? > – DG VANZARA, RETD DIG, GUJARAT POLICE ATTACK ON AMIT SHAH According to a report in the _Indian Express_, Vanzara

has attacked both BJP chief Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel of treachery and deviating from standard procedure. The retired IPS officer has alleged that the Gujarat

government had adopted “a different yardstick of promotion by conveniently favouring those officers who suit it while rejecting those who do not suit it”. In his letter, he holds Shah

responsible for using his influence in the Gujarat government for political gains. Vanzara had earlier written a damning letter from the Sabarmati Jail in 2013, condemning Shah. In that

10-page letter he had mentioned: > I used to adore Modi like a God. But I am sorry to state that my God > could not rise to the occasion under the evil influence of Amit Shah > who

usurped his eyes and ears and has been misguiding him. > – DG VANZARA, RETD DIG, GUJARAT POLICE JUST FOLLOWING ORDERS In his 2013 letter, Vanzara had declared that while Amit Shah and

certain police officers had recourse to all the legal aid, cops like him were left to rot behind bars. However, he had said that the police officers were not at fault to begin with and that

they were simply following orders. > All efforts, legal and political, were made by this government to > ensure that none of us was released on bail so as to prevent the >

investigation going from the hands of Gujarat CID to Union CBI. > – DG VANZARA’S 2013 LETTER After almost eight years in jail, Vanzara got bail in February. Currently, he lives in Bandra,

Mumbai, because he is barred from entering Gujarat. He was accused of orchestrating the ‘fake encounter’ of Ishrat Jahan, Sohrabuddin Sheikha and Tulsiram Prajapati. Published: 08 May 2015,
