The Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad has demanded that a case of sedition be lodged against Kashmiri students studying at Aligarh Muslim University, for a protest march held in the campus
against the abrogation of Article 370 on Thursday, 5 September, PTI reported. “Holding a protest against the abrogation of Article 370 is an anti-national act and the HRD Ministry should
order a probe in the entire incident,” said officer bearer Situ Chaudhary. ABVP members reportedly also burnt an effigy of the AMU vice chancellor, reportedly for allowing the students to
hold a demonstration. “A showcause notice has been issued to the organisers of this protest keeping in view the fact that we have made it mandatory that a permission has to be obtained
before holding any protest inside the campus,” AMU Registrar Abdul Hamid told _PTI_ on Saturday. He added that Thursday’s protest was held without due permission.
