THEY may live in palaces, dine on royal banquets and enjoy star-studded balls, but behind closed doors, the royal family may be more down-to-earth than you think. The likes of Kate
Middleton and Meghan Markle have given royal fans a sneak peek inside their stunning homes, and revealed they love Ikea and Dunelm just as much as the rest of us…. ⚠️ READ OUR MEGHAN AND
HARRY BLOG FOR THE LATEST NEWS ON THE ROYAL COUPLE KATE’S £11 PENGUIN BOOKS Just like many households, Kate has a number of Penguin classic books on display. The Duchess of Cambridge showed
fans inside her royal study, with her desk adorned with her collection of the clothbound classics. Each of the books in the series have been individually designed by Corlie Bickford-Smith,
and Kate’s collection includes Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility and Middlemarch by George Elliot. Each of the neatly-stacked books retails at around £11, if you buy them in a bundle of
three for £33. It is no surprise that the office is filled with classic books as the couple have previously opened up about how they love to read with the little royals, with William
revealing they are fans of Julia Donaldson's Room On The Broom. GEORGE AND CHARLOTTE’S IKEA FURNITURE Like many of us faced with furnishing a room, Kate and William turned to Ikea when
it came to George, seven, and Charlotte’s, five, bedroom. In 2018, the duke and duchess visited ArkDes, Sweden’s national museum for art and design, and met Marcus Engman, Ikea’s head of
design. They are said to have revealed to Marcus that Kensington Palace has flat-pack Ikea pieces for the children’s rooms - although the exact items weren't shared. He said the duke
and duchess were very interested in both home furnishings and how the design process works at Ikea: "They also revealed that they have Ikea pieces for the children's rooms."
THE QUEEN’S £30 HEATER In 2018, Her Majesty welcomed the President of Estonia at Buckingham Palace, and eagle-eyed fans spotted a small grey fan heater placed under a gold table. The plastic
item, which costs as little as £30 from high street stores, certainly looked out of place compared to its golden, luxurious surroundings. It was placed under a small golden table that
displayed a photo of the Queen and Prince Philip. Seems like a thrifty way to keep warm! MEGHAN MARKLE’S £47 CANDLE * TUBÉREUSE CANDLE, £47 FROM NET-A-PORTER - BUY NOW Meghan, Prince Harry
and Archie, one, are currently making a new home for themselves in California after stepping down as senior royals in March. And their new plush life seems to be suiting them just fine,
judging by a peek inside their new £11million Santa Barbara mansion. Sitting on the shelf behind Meghan is a £47 Tubéreuse candle from luxury perfumer Diptyque. According to Net-a-Porter
the candle “will envelope your living space with a heady floral fragrance.” It is also listed as the “perfect new home gift” and it may have been just that given the couple’s recent move.
QUEEN’S JOHN LEWIS ITEMS She may reside in a castle, but the Queen is the same as us….just about! As well as being surrounded by royal heirlooms and luxury goods, she also has items from
House of Fraser and John Lewis. These department stores have royal warrants with the Queen, and John Lewis also supply haberdashery goods to the palace. QUEEN’S DYSON FAN The Queen was
spotted cooling down with a Dyson fan as she met then-new PM Boris Johnson at Buckingham Palace last year. A trendy £550 metallic Dyson could be seen in the corner of the room as Boris
bowed to the Monarch. Eagle-eyed viewers were quick to spot the Queen’s fan. One person wrote: "Nice to see the queen keeping cool with a @Dyson fan!! She’s officially an
influencer!" Another fan wrote: “Great product placement ! Think it was a Dyson. Their marketing team need to get on it straight away". DUNELM FOR ROYAL BEDS In a similar way to
John Lewis having a royal warrant, Dunelm is also a preferred royal brand. The Dorma collection, which is available at the retailer, has a royal warrant to supply linen drapery and soft
furnishings to the Queen. Some of the linen starts at as little as £9 for a pillowcase - which means you don’t have to fork out a fortune to recreate a bedroom fit for royalty. MEGHAN AND
HARRY’S LOAF SOFA Meghan and Harry were notoriously private about the inside of their Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage. However, it was revealed by Bryony Gordon, who visited the royal
couple at their home, that they have a Loaf sofa. She wrote in The Telegraph that the house is "the kind of modern home you might see many times over scrolling through Instagram".
KATE’S ZARA HOME Ahead of Princess Charlotte being born in 2015, Kate Middleton was spotted shopping in Zara home. She is said to have bought a doormat, dark blue bath towels and picnic
pieces, including some padded gingham hampers, picnic cutlery and polka dot tumblers. Towels are as little as £3.99, while doormats can cost £19.99, proving Kate is every bit as thrifty as
she is stylish. READ MORE ON THE SUN We shared inside the VERY lavish royal homes, including Kate Middleton’s plush living room and a fully functional Wendy house. And here is a sneak peek
inside the royal homes at Christmas, including Kate and William’s 30ft tree and the Queen’s 620 presents. Buckingham Palace welcomes thousands of visitors to the state room and gardens every
