ASX-listed pooled development investment fund, Strategic Elements, is currently developing a transparent electronics demonstrator to showcase recent advancements for its “Nanocube Memory
Ink” technology. These advancements include optimisation of the technology’s use on glass surfaces, new fabrication methods and solving a critical issue in printing electronic inks onto
plastics. The ability to print Nanocube Memory Ink on plastics is important in the printed electronics industry as plastic is cheap, flexible and can be used in industrial scale electronic
printers. Patents have been filed over all the recent developments. Nanocube Memory Ink is a liquid transparent ink containing billions of tiny nanometre-scale, cube-shaped particles that
can operate as computer memory when printed on a surface and assembled with electrodes. Strategic is collaborating with world leading printed electronics developers, VTT Finland, to
fabricate the optimised Nanocube Memory Ink onto advanced printed electronics glass materials. This material will be incorporated into the transparent electronics demonstrator being
developed in conjunction with an Australian electronics product design company. The demonstrator is scheduled to be unveiled in the third quarter of 2019. Nanocube Memory Ink was invented at
the University of New South Wales. The technology combines low-cost traditional printing processes with advanced inks and new forms of flexible materials, allowing industries to put
electronics where they could never go before, such as “printing” them on curved surfaces or directly onto textiles. GET THE LATEST NEWS FROM THEWEST.COM.AU IN YOUR INBOX. Sign up for our
