The Atlanta VA Health Care System celebrates its cardiovascular professionals during Cardiovascular Professionals Week, February 9-15. The week honors cardiovascular practitioners and
managers and the contribution these individuals make to healthcare. Our multidisciplinary team includes nurses, board-certified cardiovascular specialists and sub-specialists, cardiovascular
and medical instrument technicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, fellows, residents and students. They are specially trained for non-invasive and invasive cardiovascular
procedures such as electrocardiography, exercise testing, echocardiography, right and left heart catheterizations, percutaneous coronary angioplasty and stenting, structural heart
interventions, pacemakers and ICD implantations, as well as electrophysiology studies and ablations. “Cardiovascular professionals work as a team to deliver exceptional patient care in the
inpatient and outpatient settings to heal the hearts of our Veterans,” says Dr. Maziar Zafari, Chief of Cardiology at Atlanta VAHCS. Atlanta VAHCS thanks all of its cardiovascular staff for
their dedication and commitment to our Veterans.
