system.”


The team drove to a nearby lake to join Mr. Carter on his first fishing trip, and his response, “this is better than $1,000.00,” signified the importance of their mission.


“We focus on three goals: improve the overall rating of the health care system; improve overall satisfaction among our Veteran patients, and improve the overall Veteran trust score.”


"I get so much out of helping our Veterans and the medical center staff," shared a volunteer.


"National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week honors laboratory professionals by showcasing their invaluable contributions which directly impact Veteran health care," said Steve Ugbo,


Atlanta VAHCS Acting Chief Medical Technologist & Laboratory Manager.


VA Southeast Network recently announced that as part of VHA’s efforts to deliver virtual care and services to Veterans and ensure ease of contact with providers and support staff, VISN 7


will now operate a 24/7 Clinical Contact Center, making virtual urgent care service more seamless to Veterans.


“I was always stuck by how kind and good natured he was every time I saw him,” said Secretary McDonough. “His highest aspiration was to serve as chairman of the Veteran Affairs Committee.


“Atlanta VA social workers are great”, said one Marine Veteran who recently had surgery at the facility.  “They work behind the scenes with Veterans and families to ensure they have the


resources they need to heal, as well as addressing other needs.”


According to Mark Eister, Vice President of Operations for Warrior Alliance 800+ Veterans registered for the event with another 200 -300 attending as walk-ins.
