Andrew Duxbury MD received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology from Stanford University and his medical degree from the University of Washington. He then did post graduate
training in both internal medicine and geriatric medicine at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California later joining the faculty at that university. He moved to Alabama in 1998
at the invitation of the University of Alabama Birmingham where he remains on the faculty as a professor of clinical geriatrics. He has done home based medical care including the VA’s Home
Based Primary Care, home health and hospice for more than thirty years. He has been working with the rural sites of the Birmingham VA’s Home Based Primary Care since 2014. He is originally
from Seattle, Washington.
