As Interim Associate Medical Center Director As Interim Associate Medical Center Director/Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mr. Sharma provides executive oversight of a $550 million budget and
leads the day-to-day operations of the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. He has direct responsibility for the Care in the Community Service, Finance, Health Administration Service, Healthcare
Technology Service, Facilities Management Service, Occupational Safety and Health, Strategic Planning, Interior Design, and Supply Chain Management Service. Mr. Sharma also serves as a
principal facility liaison to the Network Contracting, Office of Information Technology, Information Security Office, Fiscal, and Human Resources. Before this appointment, Mr. Sharma served
as the Chief of Facilities Management Service at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. In this capacity, he oversaw master planning, capital projects, construction, interior design,
maintenance, and the engineering operations of the medical center and outpatient clinics. He also held the positions of Acting Associate Medical Center Director and Acting Assistant Director
for the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. Prior to this role, he was Chief of Projects at the Baltimore and Loch Raven VA Medical Centers. Additionally, he served as the Acting Health System
Specialist (HSS) for the Associate Director of Operations at the VA Maryland Health Care System. Mr. Sharma is currently a certified coach and mentor for the VA Talent Opportunity Program
(TOP) and the Facility Leadership Development Program (FLDP). He also serves as a preceptor for the VA Technical Career Field (TCF) program and was the Host Supervisor for the FY20-FY21 VA
TOP Program. Mr. Sharma graduated from the Mid-Con Chief to Quad program and is currently enrolled in the Healthcare Leadership Development Program (HCLDP) 2025 class. Additionally, he is an
active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE). Mr. Sharma has held multiple leadership and management
roles within the federal government. Before joining the VA, he worked for the Department of Commerce, the Department of Defense, and private sector organizations as a Supervisory Engineer.
He is an Army Veteran with exceptional meritorious achievements and has served on military operational tours across the world, including Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Poland, and Operation
Atlantic Resolve.
