Veteran Health Indiana has updated its visitor policy to safely protect patients and employees based upon community transmission rates and current VA health protection levels (i.e. low,


medium, high).    *General Visitors Requirements: * Must wear an exam-style, well-fitted mask, worn to fully cover the mouth and nose at all times while in VA facility * Screen negative for


COVID-19 symptoms upon entry * Age 5 years or older (masking required) * Not diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 10 days * No close contact with someone who was COVID-19 positive in the last


14 days * Adhere to visitation guidelines regardless of being vaccinated against COVID-19 Until further notice, our visitor policy is as follows per each VA health protection level: LOW

the age of 5 *COVID Visitation Visitors will be given appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), must be able to physically wear PPE, and will receive just in time training on how to


put on and take off the PPE, when visiting COVID patients. Visitors must remain in full PPE while in the patient’s room. *Care partners for outpatients are defined as individuals assisting:


  * patients needing assistance with walking or wheelchair  * patients with cognitive impairment  * patients with vision or hearing issues, language barriers  * patients in need of care


during their visit or post-procedure Drivers will be allowed to wait in the facility.  The drivers should wait in the dedicated area near where the procedures occur. All entrances at the


medical center will continue to be closed except for the Atrium, D-Wing and the Basement South Entrance until further notice. All Veterans, care partners, visitors, and employees are


reminded that wearing an exam-style face mask fully covering the mouth and nose is REQUIRED at all Veteran Health Indiana facilities.
