Dr. Victor Mizrachi is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and the Chief of Staff of the Iowa City VA Health Care System. Dr. Mizrachi graduated from New York Medical College, completed
a Transitional Internship at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, Georgia and completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam
Houston, Texas. Dr. Mizrachi served as the Brigade Surgeon for the 210th Forward Support Battalion (10th Mountain Division) while stationed at Fort Drum, NY. He was deployed several times,
including deployments to Somalia during Operation Restore Hope and to Homestead, Florida as part of the relief effort in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew. He received several honors during
his military career, to include the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Meritorious Service Award and the U.S. Army Commendation Medal. He retired from the U.S.
Army as a Lieutenant Colonel. During his career, Dr. Mizrachi served as a Radiologist and Chief of Diagnostic Ultrasound and CT Imaging at Martin Army Medical Center, Fort Benning Georgia.
He was a Radiologist at the Mayo Clinic for 16 years. He was an Instructor of Radiology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota and the Medical Director of the
Riverland College Radiography program. Most recently he served as the Diagnostic Service Line Chief (Imaging and Laboratory Services) at the St. Cloud VA Health Care System. While at the St.
Cloud VA Health Care System, Dr. Mizrachi introduced the latest ACR Criteria for Ultrasound Imaging of thyroid nodules (TI-RADS) and established the Lung-RADS program to standardize follow
up and management decisions based on low dose CT screening studies for lung cancer. He helped to revise and implement MRI, CT and ultrasound protocols. When the St. Cloud VAHCS was selected
as one of the 18 sites to lead the VHA High Reliability Organization journey, Dr. Mizrachi went for special training and helped to implement the HRO concepts. Dr. Mizrachi completed the VISN
23 Executive Preceptorship Program under the Chief of Staff at the Iowa City VA Health Care System in May of 2019. He later served as the Acting Chief of Staff at the Iowa City VA Health
Care System from March 30, 2020 to July 30, 2020.
