PRESS RELEASE February 29, 2024 Martinsburg , WV — After over three years without local eye clinic services, the Cumberland Community Based Outpatient Clinic, part of the Martinsburg VA
Medical Center system, will resume Optometry services next month. Optometrist, Dr. Michael Bert and Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, Amber Beal, will be joining the Cumberland CBOC in early
March. Bert has been a practicing optometrist for 28 years while Beal has been the optometry field for eight years. “The return of Optometry service to our Veterans in Cumberland will allow
shorter travel times and easier access to seamless care by keeping the service within the VA instead of sending veterans into the community for care,” said Cumberland CBOC Manager, Madison
Houck. In addition to Bert and Beal, the Cumberland CBOC will also be receiving state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment that is set to arrive in the fall. Media contacts Lona Lozinski, Public
