Minneapolis , MN — The Department of Veterans Affairs top priority as an organization right now is to hire employees to take care of our nations Veterans. The Veterans Health Administration
needs to hire 52,000 employees per year over the next five years to keep pace with the increased need for care and to maintain a healthy, vibrant workforce. It is our collective
responsibility to improve the hiring and onboarding experience and to achieve this goal requires everyone working together as a team. The Onboarding Surge Event (OSE) model is a
standardized, team-centric approach focused on fast tracking a selectee’s onboarding experience by coordinating all required pre-employment actions into a single-day event. On November 16
the Minneapolis VA Medical Center will be conducting an Onboarding Surge Event from 12:00 to 7:00 pm at the facility. The event is intended to foster a strong, collaborative relationship
between Human Resources, hiring managers and employees, as well as reducing the number of selectees waiting to finish pre-employment onboarding requirements. If you have questions or would
like to be present at this event reach out to the Minneapolis VA Health Care System Public Affairs Officer.
