Mr. Christopher Kent has accepted the role of Acting Assistant Director effective March 25, 2024. Mr. Kent began his career here at the New Mexico VA Healthcare System in 2019 as the Health
Services Specialist to the Associate Director. While in this position, he served as a Co-Administrative Officer for the COVID Immunization process, he briefly served in CDCE, and has been
detailed to both the Fisher House Manager position and the Integrity and Compliance Officer position. Before arriving at the NMVAHCS, Mr. Kent worked in private industry where he wrote
policies, audited processes and performed process improvement activities. He also served as a Medical Assistant in Urgent Care, Private Practice, Internal Medicine and Tri-Core Laboratories
as well as served in the United States Marine Corps during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He recently celebrated his 21st Anniversary with his beautiful wife and has four lovely girls. In
addition to his family, he has several cats due to that beautiful wife and lovely girls. He enjoys teaching youth group at his local church and hanging out with his family. He hopes to serve
both the Veterans and the Employees of this great system well.
