VHA recommends that Veterans stay up to date on recommended vaccines (immunizations). Vaccines are one of the best ways to reduce your risk of illness. Vaccines prevent disease in a safe and
easy way, so you can be active in life, work, and family time. Depending on your age, health history, or where you work or travel, you may need different types of vaccines. To decide which
vaccines are right for you, look at the VA recommendation charts for Men and Women and talk to your health care team. It is not unusual for adults to need more than one vaccination at an
office visit. When this occurs, VHA recommends getting all needed vaccines at the same visit. The most common vaccinations administered by VA Portland Health Care System are listed below.
* COVID-19 * Hepatitis A * Hepatitis B * Herpes Zoster (shingles) * HPV (human papilloma virus) * Influenza (flu) * MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) * Meningococcal *
Pneumococcal * RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) * Td (tetanus, diphtheria) * Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough) * Varicella (chickenpox) For questions or to schedule a
vaccination/s appointment, please send a secure message to your Primary Care team via My HealtheVet or call option 2.
