October is recognized as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). This year, the VA Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program DVAM theme, “Building Relationship Health and

Safety for Life,” aims to increase awareness of the critical importance of healthy and safe relationships throughout a person’s lifetime. The Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program

recognizes and promotes the importance of healthy and safe relationships with the DVAM theme: Building Relationship Health and Safety for Life. This theme emphasizes the importance of early

intervention through engaging in routine, trauma-informed screening, and assessment to offer Veterans experiencing IPV a safe place to find support when they are ready. Find out more about

VA Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Programming by going to www.socialwork.va.gov/IPV/Index.asp. You can also obtain information about IPV related services at your local VA facility by

calling and requesting to speak with the IPVAP Coordinator.
