Trimont, Minnesota, High School senior raised over $21,000 for the Sioux Falls VA Adaptive sports program. While serving as American Legion Auxiliary Department of Minnesota’s Honorary
Junior President, Sydney Borntrager, chose a project to raise funds for the Sioux Falls VA’s Adaptive Sports Program. Being from southern Minnesota, the Sioux Falls VA provides care to many
of the area Veterans. Sydney’s passion for 4-H shooting sports along with various Future Farmers of America (FFA) and high school trapshooting programs drew her to the Adaptive Sports
Program. “Because I am passionate about these activities and passionate about honoring and supporting our Veterans, this project is the best of both worlds.” Over the course of one year, she
raised over $21,000! Ms. Borntrager put in the legwork by visiting various Veteran organizations and educating them on her project and the crucial role donations play in having a
successful VA Adaptive Sports program.
