Mr. James (Shep) Speight was appointed in January 2024 as the Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Services at Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center. He previously served as the Nurse
Manager for the Resource Pool and began his VA career as the Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Facility Coordinator in 2018. Prior to joining the VA, Mr. Speight served in both the US Army
and US Air Force for a total of 25 years. Mr. Speight earned his Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and holds a Master's degree in
Emergency Management from Tuoro University.
