A government shutdown will not affect Veteran care. We are pleased to inform you that a government shutdown on Sept. 30, will not impact healthcare operations and patient care services at
the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System and CBOCs. All patient care services and appointments will continue as normal. Veterans in need of urgent or emergent care should seek
assistance at their local VA medical facility. This includes Veterans seeking care for mental health emergencies. Additionally, Veterans should plan to keep all scheduled appointments. If
you need to cancel your appointment, please call your primary care clinic. Veterans, family members, and caregivers may also manage appointments, request prescription refills, and send
messages to their patient-aligned care team via secure messaging at My HealtheVet. If you have an emergency and need immediate attention, please call 911 for assistance. Veterans
experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 988 and press 1. We are honored to continue to provide world-class care to our Veterans. Please follow us on social media and monitor our
website for local information and news updates.
