Tomah , WI — The Tomah VA Medical Center led all Veterans Health Administration locations of care in a key metric measuring Veterans’ trust in their mental health care from Oct. 1, 2022,
through Feb. 28, 2023. The metric, known as the Veterans Signals (V-Signals) total trust score, measures Veteran satisfaction based upon their response to the question “I trust Tomah VA
Medical Center for my health care needs.” The data reported is the percentage of Veterans responding to the question with a “4-Agree or 5-Strongly Agree“ on a five-point Likert scale. Based
on rolling data from the first five months of fiscal year 2023, Tomah VA’s 96.2% score made it the national trust leader as reported by Veterans receiving mental health care. Tomah VA
Medical Center Director Karen Long said Tomah VA’s score is an important milestone as the medical center works toward its goal of 100% Veteran trust, every day. “When a Veteran chooses to
trust Tomah VA with their care, that trust is never taken for granted,” said Long. “Our leadership in this critical metric is a direct result of our staff taking ownership of VA’s core
values of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence. More important than any ranking, though, is that Veterans are receiving care worthy of their sacrifice.” In addition to
the top score, Tomah VA also ranked in the top 15 locations of care nationwide in metrics measuring mental health wait times, convenience of mental health appointment date and time, and
delivery of mental health care in easy-to-understand terms.
