Wausau , WI — TOMAH, Wisc. — The Tomah VA Medical Center will Honor Veteran Jack Shebuski at a Centenarian Celebration on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Wausau VA Clinic.
The Centenarian Program is a special initiative to honor American Heroes who have reached the age of 100. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert Wilkie began this project in November 2020, and
current VA Secretary McDonough has continued the program. “Since the Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) has been coordinating these celebrations to honor our Veteran
centenarians, we have awarded 360 centenarians and special recognitions (those in their late 90’s) across the country”, said Jennifer Conzemius, Director of Tomah VA CDCE. Additional
Centenarian requests have been initiated for other counties in our catchment area and celebrations will have been scheduled. All Centenarians will receive a letter and coin from the VA
Secretary. Anyone can nominate a VA enrolled Veteran through the Tomah VA CDCE office at (608) 372-1727. About Tomah VA Medical Center The Tomah VA Medical Center is in Tomah, Wisconsin and
