INTO CAMP' Scarlets star Macs Page has vowed to "rip into" Wales camp after he was called up into Matt Sherratt's squad for this summer's tour of Japan. The
20-year-old back has long been regarded as one of the next big things in Welsh rugby, with many tipping him to force his way into the senior international set-up following a series of
outstanding performances both at club level and for Wales U20s. Now, his international aspirations have been realised with interim coach Sherratt naming him in his squad as one of six
uncapped players to make the cut. Page has now opened up about his selection in a statement shared by Crys16 - the Scarlets Supporters Trust, who have sponsored the Dinas Cross-born talent
this season. Sign up to Inside Welsh rugby on Substack to get exclusive news stories and insight from behind the scenes in Welsh rugby. “I’m really delighted and proud to be selected for the
Wales squad to Japan this summer," he said. "There’s a lot of the Scarlets boys in the squad and reflects the hard work that’s going on here to push forward as a group – so it’s
good to see that working. Article continues below “This season has been massive for me and I’m grateful for all the opportunities that have come my way. I am really enjoying my time at
Scarlets – we’re a strong and close-knit group of players." He added: “I’m also hugely appreciative of the support Crys16 – the Scarlets Supporters' Trust have given me this year.
Their support at the Parc and at our away games has been incredible. “We’ve got a few big weeks ahead of us now as a team but after that I can’t wait to rip into Wales camp and carry on
learning and improving my game and hopefully we can make an impact in Japan.“ WELSH FLY-HALF LEAVES FOR ENGLAND Worcester Warriors have confirmed the signing of Dragons fly-half Will Reed.
The 23-year-old has followed Welsh international Lloyd Williams to become the second Welshman to sign for the revived club, who will play in the second-tier of English rugby from next
season. A former Wales U20 international, Reed made the last of his 50 appearances for the region against the Ospreys last month, having made just five starts over the course of the
campaign.. Having moved to Rodney Parade in 2021, he had a year left to run on his contract, but has cut it short in a bid to get more game time across the border. “I firstly want to thank
our fans for all the support they have always given me,” said Reed as his exit was confirmed. “The atmosphere at Rodney Parade will always be special to me, nothing beats playing there when
it is bouncing. “I want to also thank staff at the club for their guidance and support over the years and all the team-mates I’ve been lucky to play alongside. “I came through the academy
system and in the senior set-up with several players who will always remain the closest of friends. Finally, my sincere thanks to the club for supporting and enabling me to take this new
opportunity. “I want to wish the Dragons all the best for next season and beyond. I’ll always remain a Dragon and supporter and look forward to coming back to show my support from the
stands. SUFTMOG.” Dragons head coach Filo Tiatia added: “I’ve really enjoyed working with Will this season. He’s a very good professional who conducts himself in the right way and works
hard, on and off the field. “As a product of our system, it’s been fantastic to see Will make over half a century of appearances for his club. We’re pleased he now has this new opportunity
in England and Worcester are lucky to have him. “Will is always welcome at Rodney Parade. This is his club, he will always be a part of the Dragons, and we look forward to watching the next
chapter of his career.” Meanwhile, Warriors head coach Matt Everard welcomed Reed to the club and said: "At the age of just 23, Will has played almost 50 games of URC and European
rugby, bringing maturity beyond his years. "He has an outstanding ability to unpick a defence and move a team around a field. He's a very exciting signing for the club and a person
I can't wait to work with." WALES STAR POSTS EXIT MESSAGE Wales international Rhys Patchell has issued a message to supporters after leaving Japanese club NEC Green Rockets. The
32-year-old outside-half is one of 16 player departures from the Japan Rugby League One side, while former Wales head coach Wayne Pivac has also left the club following a difficult run of
results. Former Cardiff and Scarlets star Patchell, who has 22 Wales caps to his name, enjoyed a stint at New Zealand Super Rugby outfit the Highlanders before his move to Japan last summer.
He has scored four tries in 12 appearances for the Green Rockets this season, but is now set for pastures new in a development that may well attract interest from Wales' professional
clubs. Addressing his exit from the Japanese club, Patchell said: “I have enjoyed being part of the crew this season and am proud to have represented our club. "To our supporters, thank
you for your unwavering support. I would like to wish everyone at the club the best of luck for the future.” It comes after Patchell admitted that he had missed Wales during his time in
Japan, telling S4C's _Jonathan_ in March: "This might sound really deep now, but I didn't think 'hiraeth' was a real thing. "I thought it was just this really
wishy-washy thing that people spoke about which wasn't real. "When you reach the longest stint I've done out there, 10 or 12 weeks, by then I was ready to come home. I wanted
my fix of Wales." LIONS STAR CLEARED TO PLAY _By PA Sport Staff_ Ollie Chessum has been cleared to take part in the final phase of Leicester’s Gallagher Premiership title push after his
citing for a dangerous tackle was dismissed. The England forward was facing a ban of around three matches if his hit on Bath’s Will Muir on Saturday had been deemed by an independent
hearing to be a significant offence. However, Chessum is available to play immediately after the panel decided the circumstances of the tackle justified only the yellow card he was shown.
SCOTLAND STAR HAS MORE TO GIVE _By Anthony Brown, PA_ Scotland back-rower Matt Fagerson believes he still has more gears to go through in his game after he committed to spending his prime
years with Glasgow. The 26-year-old, who has been with Warriors for his entire professional career to date, has signed a new deal until 2028. Fagerson has won 55 Scotland caps and made more
than 100 appearances for Glasgow, whom he helped to United Rugby Championship glory a year ago, and he feels ready to accomplish plenty more. “I’ve definitely changed both as a man and as a
player since arriving here,” said Fagerson, currently recovering from an ankle injury sustained last month. “So many team-mates have left their mark on me and help me to develop, and that’s
probably the biggest compliment I can give to Glasgow Warriors. “I came in here with a lot of ambition but possibly lacking in physical ability or rugby smarts, and this club has shaped me
into the person and player I am today. I’m nowhere near the finished article, though. I want to keep pushing on and keep developing in all aspects of my game. Article continues below “I
really want to push myself and win more trophies, not only with Glasgow but for Scotland as well. I know I’ve got more to give and more levels I want to reach in my own game, and I want to
use this rehabilitation process I’m going through at the minute to come back stronger both physically and mentally.”
