A BEACH IN NORTHUMBERLAND WAS USED IN THE VERY FAMOUS VIDEO FOR SAM FENDER TRACK SEVENTEEN GOING UNDER 10:18, 03 Jun 2025Updated 14:08, 03 Jun 2025 With temperatures looking pretty decent

for Newcastle and the surrounding area this week, particularly towards the end of it, the beach is looking like an incredibly good shout. And there's one in Northumberland that has the

rather unique claim to fame of being the star of a Sam Fender video. Now, as you know if you're a regular reader of CHRONICLELIVE, when it comes to great beaches, the North East is

blessed with an abundance of them, meaning we are spoilt for choice on which ones to visit and write about. And while it is, quite deservedly, the likes of Bamburgh and Tynemouth's

Longsands and King Edward's Boy, not far from Sam's native North Shields and most recently visited by Take That legend Gary Barlow, that get a lot of attention; there is another

that always merits a mention. And that place is Druridge Bay. Blessed with a seven mile stretch of coastline, the Bay is on the doorstep of numerous fishing villages bursting with character,

like Amble, rated one of the UK's most sought after postcodes by the sea and Cresswell, which sat its own beach swarmed by people looking to catch a few rays and enjoy an ice cream

when temperatures soared to over 20 last month. And the pristine golden sands at Druridge are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to things to explore at the Bay, as it is also home to

dunes and rock pools, as well as the 100 acre Ladyburn Lake surrounded by stunning woodland. With clear waters, breathtaking backdrops and a vast area to roam, it's no surprise that

Druridge Bay is popular with surfers, horse riders and cyclists alike, with it also cementing itself as a must visit location for wildlife enthusiasts as well, thanks to its own Country

Park. Given just how great Druridge Bay looks on camera, it was the perfect fit for Sam's Seventeen Going Under video, which was filmed in the summer of 2021, before the song went onto

become a modern classic and the album of the same name gave him his second number 1. Article continues below After a call out for local lads to be in the video, the Bay became a hive of

activity, as Sam and the extras cast for the shoot stepped in front of camera and were watched by fans and locals who came out to see what all the fuss was about. From there, production

moved closer to home as Sam took over a street in North Shields for a very daring scene that saw him take to a platform raised high above the ground as his new single sounded out into the

air. WE HAVE A DEDICATED NEWSLETTER FOR WHAT’S ON NEWS AND REVIEWS. IT’S FREE AND YOU CAN SIGN UP TO RECEIVE IT HERE. It will keep you up to date with all the latest updates on food, drink,
