A jury has decided a Coventry man shot dead by police in 2019, was 'killed lawfully' the BBC have reported. 31-year-old Sean Fitzgerald was shot in the chest and died on 4 January


2019. It happened when West Midlands Police officers were investigating the activities of a suspected organised crime gang on Burnaby Road. The officer who fired the fatal shot - Officer K -


gave evidence at Coventry Coroner's Court in an inquest that started last month. Mr Fitzgerald died from a gunshot wound to the chest after leaving a property on the street at about

Six years on, an inquest jury was asked to consider two conclusions of lawful or unlawful killing by Officer K. BBC CWR reports a majority 10-1 verdict found the killing was lawful. The
