COASTWATCH IRVINE WERE "OVERWHELMED" BY THE RESPONSE AFTER THEIR FUNDRAISER FOR A PUBLIC ACCESS BLEED CONTROL KIT AT IRVINE BEACH RAISED MORE THAN DOUBLE THE MONEY REQUIRED. 11:38,
29 May 2025Updated 11:38, 29 May 2025 An Ayrshire charity has thanked the public after they were "overwhelmed" by the response to their fundraiser for a potentially lifesaving
bleed control kit at Irvine Beach. Coastwatch Irvine put out a heartfelt message to the many supporters after their £500 target was smashed within hours of launching the fundraiser. So far,
£1,055 has been raised via their Just Giving page and Irvine business CS Recovery Ltd also generously offered to cover the full cost of the kit. Bleed control kits are used to stop severe
bleeding from critical injuries until emergency services can arrive and can be potentially lifesaving. It comes less than two weeks after 16-year-old Kayden Moy, from East Kilbride, died
after being fatally injured on Irvine Beach on Saturday, May 17. Coastwatch Irvine have promised to use the extra funding to purchase a second kit for another location and any remaining
money will be used to maintain the kits. Article continues below Bleed control kits contain trauma dressings, tourniquets and haemostatic gauze and, similar to public defibrillators, they
are stored in lock boxes and can be accessed by calling 999. DOWNLOAD THE AYRSHIRE LIVE APP TODAY The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now. Get all the local news in your area –

like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who has donated towards our fundraiser for a public access bleed kit so far. "We have been overwhelmed with the amount of support we have
received and appreciate all the support towards this cause. "Due to the amount of money donated we are looking at purchasing a second kit, however the location of this second kit is
still being considered - suggestions welcome. "Any money donated to this fundraiser will be ring fenced for purchasing of these kits and subsequent maintenance. We will post any updates
in due course. Thank you." The fundraiser remains open and to donate, visit https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/irvinebeachpublicbleedkit Following the incident on May 17, two
