🏑 Head Coach – Pelicans Hockey Club, King’s Lynn, Norfolk Pelicans Hockey Club, a historic and community-focused club in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and
experienced Head Coach to lead the development and delivery of hockey across all age groups and levels of play. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a transformative leadership role at
a growing club with ambitious goals for performance, participation, and community outreach. Job Title: Head Coach Location: King's Lynn, Norfolk Contract: Part-Time (approx. 30
hours/week) – September-April Salary: Competitive – negotiable based on experience, qualifications, and scope of responsibilities undertaken Key Responsibilities: Coaching & Development
· Lead coaching for all senior men’s and women’s teams as well as junior age groups (U8-U18). · Develop and implement a club-wide coaching philosophy and long-term player
development framework. · Create and deliver age-appropriate, engaging, and progressive training sessions across all groups. · Attend and oversee all senior and junior
training sessions (currently held on evenings and weekends). · Provide matchday support, analysis, and feedback to senior teams when available. Player Participation · Play a
key role within the Ladies or Men’s 1st XI squad as an active player-coach. · Mentor and support aspiring junior players with pathways into senior teams. Community Engagement &
Outreach · Forge partnerships with local schools to reintroduce hockey into school PE curriculum. · Design and deliver hockey introduction sessions or taster days in both
junior and senior schools. · Represent and promote Pelicans HC as a leading destination for youth and adult hockey in the region. Leadership & Club Culture · Lead,
mentor, and support the club’s volunteer coaching workforce. · Help to build a positive, inclusive, and ambitious club environment. · Work closely with the Club Committee on
strategic planning and long-term club goals. Candidate Profile: Essential: · Experience in coaching hockey across multiple age groups and playing levels. · Level 2 England
Hockey (or equivalent) coaching qualification or willingness to work towards it. · Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills. · Willingness to commit to
regular evening and weekend availability. · Ability and willingness to play for the Ladies or Men’s 1st XI. Desirable: · Experience working within school sports programmes or
club-school partnerships. · Experience coaching at National League level or equivalent. · A background in player development, talent identification, and pathway management.
Remuneration: This is a paid role with a salary package negotiable based on responsibilities undertaken and qualifications. The role is estimated at around 30 hours per week, with
