A top call of 3400gns marked a successful debut for Longhorn breeders at Beeston this week with Graham Lea topping the trade with an October calving in-calf heifer, Dinglebank Imogen. She’s
by Bejon Donald and sold in calf to Blackbrook Cracker. She was bought by Phil Robinson, Goostrey, Cheshire. Another brace of heifers from the same home filled the next two top calls, the
first of which was Dinglebank Iris at 1450gns. Iris is also by Donald and sold in calf to Cracker to J Romani, Birkinshaw. The same buyer then paid 1400gns for Dinglebank India, another
Donald daughter in calf to Cracker. Best among the cows and calves was a brace of 1050gns sales for entries from Eric Wood, Cotgrave. Both of these were by Fawsley Flashman and sold with
heifer calves by Rousham Yogi at foot to G R Hopee, Tatham. AVERAGES: 10 COWS WITH CALVES AT FOOT £812.70; 10 IN-CALF COWS £597.45; 6 IN-CALF HEIFERS £1576.75; 1 MAIDEN HEIFER £525.00
