Isn’t it ironic that on the day you publish Kathy Smith’s first article about the fundamental importance of exercise (“There Is No Excuse for Not Working Out,” Oct. 6), you also publish an
interview with Kate Mulgrew (“She’s Got a Standing Lunch Date”) about how she disdains not only exercise but people who exercise. If she thinks she’s short now, just wait a few more years of
no-exercise (particularly weight-bearing exercise), and the inevitable bone loss, and she’ll be relegated to wearing stilts to maintain her stature next to her fellow actors. Good luck to
